Rapiscan Model 528 is a new generation X-ray screening system with a tunnel size of 1000 mm (39.4 inches wide) by 1000 mm, making it ideal for screening articles that exceed the capacity of cabin baggage size X-ray system. The Rapiscan 520B has a large tunnel opening of 640mm (25.2 inches) wide by 430mm (16.93 inches) high. The Rapiscan 520 Compact is a high performance, highly mobile, dual energy X-ray system ideal for use in areas where space is a concern.

HAWTHORNE, Calif. - July 20, 2005 - Rapiscan Systems, a division of OSI Systems, Inc. today announced that it will be deploying multiple security inspection solutions at this year's International Association of Athletics Federations (“IAAF”) World Championships taking place in Helsinki, Finland from August 6th through the 14th. The equipment will be installed in both the Olympic Stadium and its immediate surroundings, as well as in the Athletes' Village.

Specific systems include:

  • Rapiscan 520B X-Ray: Dual energy imaging that provides automatic color coding of materials with different atomic numbers so that screeners can easilyentify objects within a parcel or package.
  • Metor 200 WP: A fully weatherproof, rugged multi-zone walk-through metal detector for harsh climates ranging from winter conditions to tropical environments.
  • Metor 28: Hand-held metal detector that allows for an individual to be thoroughly and effectively scanned while eliminating the need for the inspector to make physical contact.
